Price here for a 1275 A series one is over $400 in my 1/09 Karcraft catalog.

Well I didn't get the bare block and head. I got a 1330, 1100 'S', but the remote gearbox casing is smashed. I'm going to split the box and the block to see if the casing took the force of the hit or the internals are screwed. The engines been given a rebuild or had some work done to it. The head has double valve springs, and i think the valves are enlarged, I'll measure it tomorrow. Its got double timing gear as well.

It was a bit of a gamble but the unit wasn't that much more then the block and head. So i could have an engine that is useless, if thats the case I'll have some spare parts, then again might find a nice cam inside too. haha

As it stands i need to get a remote box casing and clutch housing, don't know if its 3 or 4 syncro.

Would the second top engine steady interfere with the heat shield on a twin carb setup?

These days I would not bother with a 3 synchro box, unless it's for a Mk1 S resto.
4 synchro ones are better in traffic, stronger, and parts are more available.
