I have a 12G295 sitting here to get checked one day.....but it looks like it was left outside and is likely stuffed. Valve guides looked to be rusted to the casting....bum....

They will come out, no problem. Push them UP, if you have to.
I got a 1275 head for nix that was rusted right through the #3 inlet seat (it had been left in the weather).
I turned up a valve seat from 4140, bored the port to suit, and GR shrink fitted it and remachined the seat. Good to go... :P

so i took my rocker cover off today and found no numbering at all apart from a letter 'A' on the RHR most area. then I saw it on the outside of the head half hidden under the RH engine support bracket.
From what I could see the last numbers are 29C6. I didnt take off the bracket to see the rest as doing so makes coolant go everywhere lol.

Any ideas to the head type?

It sounds like a late head, the number is under the bracket.
It's probably just a CAM4004. Are there 4 holes in the front of the head near the spark plugs?
Like this one (but not same head, this is a 1275) Image

If so yeah it's a CAM4004, 998 smog head. Not the best for mods, a 202 needs way less work.
