a while ago i was thinking of fitting a motor from a morris nomad (1500cc OHC)and then turboing it  but it was just not feasible, and i couldnt source a motor just on a hunch that it would be a bolt in conversion.

Count yourself lucky you could not find one. They make a good boat anchor. As Brett said the gearchange gave enormous problems. Leyland had some abysmal cars in their lifetime but this one had to be near the top of the list. but then their was the Marina, the six cylinder P76, their entire truck line up and the list goes on. They made some good tractors though and of course the mini.

they`re all sh!t except for the Alloy V8 P76

but that was Leyland for ya

they spend something like $48 thousand trying to fit an alloy V8 into an austin 1800 & it ended up crap,,,yet i can do it for about $5000

The mini wasn`t a really Leyland , then Leyland stuffed it & then Rover stuffed it even more :-)

ah well,,,if only they talked to all of us guys & gals before they did things hey??? we could have set them straight yeah????

:-)

Can't wait to see how your twin engined 9.4L V8 turbo monster turns out. MADNESS

Thought I was bad - managed to talk the wife into buying me a nitrous kit for the AWDMoke for my birthday this month...
