Like the thread, lots of thoughts and options to suit.

What's the rest of the car got to survive the power and added dynamics?

The rest of the car has:
Welded subframes
hi-los with blue springs
Koni adjustables
7.5 4pot stoppers up front
Dave Rs Magna rear disk conversion (no booster for either end at this stage)
Nolathane bushes all round (I custom made the ones that nolathane dont do)
Looking at Civic LSD and drive shaft mods (Gotta do something about torque steer)

And lots of other little things which Ill detail in a build thread one day
thats all Ive done so far, Its a work in progress, Concentrating on my other mini/uni atm.

Looking at that list I really haven't done much at all, but everything I have done has been an uphill struggle, from being scammed $500 over a set of springs to finding out every piece of the magna conversion is NLA.
Im beginning to think this mini is cursed.

What do you mean? After reading that thread it seemed like all that needed to be done magna wise is find a wrecker with a magna :?

Sure but those calipers will need rebuilding and rebuild kits are NLA, same with rotors NLA and if the pistons are rusted in like mine there NLA too.
Fortunately the pads are still being made but for how long?

I think you`ll find people like DBA (Disc Brakes Australia) & the like could supply the rotors , & also other people like TPS-BHSS (Brisbane Hydraulic Sleaving Service, & other companys like them can sort you the caliper pistons & seals etc

it`s not too hard if you know where to look

I did have a good look around, ATAP, Protex, DBA, PBR.
None of them are making parts anymore and only ATAP had NOS.
Yes I could machine down different rotors or send the measurements of each piece to a supplier for new parts but off the shelf kits are easier. If I knew Id have to go to that level of customization I would have used a more common caliper. seeing as custom mounts and hubs need to be made anyway. David did all the hard work, just need to find a small caliper and measure the mount spacing to make an adapter.

But I guess its the price we classic car owners have to pay.
Or maybe Im just trying to justify my slow progress and your making it hard. :P

So Ive started on my engine build, but just a few questions that would make my life easier.

The seat for the oil relief valve, is it pressed in or screwed in?

Which fly wheels are interchangeable? I have some small bore ones will they fit an 1100s auto block?

Oil pumps, I understand the good doctor makes an adapter from spider to slot drive, is there any difference in the pumps apart from the drive? I.e. flow etc.
Seeing as Im not using the cam apart from driving the pump would a slot drive small bore cam fit in a 1100s block?

The seat for the relief valve is pressed in but has a thread inside it for removal- I think it's 3/8 UNC. Check and see.
To get it out you just need a stud, short bit of tube and a nut + washer.

TheDoc is right

&

nearly all flywheels are interchangeable, except for the very very early small stub 850 one

&

you`ll be fine with a small-bore cam & whatever pump suits if

Think Matt means "it", ie "whatever pump suits it". A typo!

this might have been covered but i missed it but you mention the word "auto" 1100s block
are you running it as an auto or have you done the conversion to manualize it? as oil pump type wont make a difference if this hasnt been done

If it is an AUTOMATIC 1100S block, see my sticky at top of this forum, for work involved to convert it to manual.
