 Post subject: Xenon Timing Light Power

I have a Xenon timing light from the 1970's but it needs 12volts to run. My leads don't go as far as the battery in the boot. Am I able to get the 12volts I need from within the engine bay? Please tell me where this is possible.

Any ground and where the battery lead connects to the solenoid
