hey guys, i got tired of looking for a set of dellorto stand alone linkages, so i made my own :D, the throttle cable bracket on the inlet flange was only to test the linkages with cable operation, the new mount will go either on the inlet manifold or on the cylinder head flange studs. also the carb is mounted on an old honda civic rotor so i didnt f**c up the inlet flanges on the carb.

yeh i will soon, i changed the linkage set up a little bit today aswell, wen its finished and painted ill get sum pix .

That's a good Dellorto- it's got the big idle screws, not the pissy little ones like mine... :wink:

i bet it was a fair bit cheaper than yours aswell ;) what are idle screws :?: the screw going onto the carb linkage ?

The 2 screws you can see in the bottom pic, with the springs round them. Idle mixture...

Anto's 40 DHLA has the same idle mix adjustment screws... i was fiddling with them yesturday as we got the carb on his car last night complete with swanneck manifold for the time being. While going for a test drive he ran out of fuel so we pushed the car about 1 km to the local petrol station :lol: i wont be pushing a car that far again.

I'm not so worried about fuel consumption! It seems everybody's advice when I say I've got a Dell'orto is 'do you carry a fire extinguisher?' :o

Gee, I'm thinking I should mount one in the engine bay as well! Although it seems to me that everytime somebody burns their Mini engine down, it isn't the carbs fault per se, rather them fiddling with it and mixing petrol fumes with sparks....

And in my opinion we pushed it more than 1km - it felt like 10km to me! I didn't feel particularly well for the rest of the evening!

Those throttle linkages look very nice - I need to work on mine, the throttle isn't particularly even, and sometimes it gets WOT cruise control :shock: The problem is that I had to switch the linkage to the other side so that the cable would reach - if I switch it back and get a longer cable it should work fine.

thanks mate , i have changed them a bit i narrowed the controll arm and machined up a spacer aswell as painting it all yellow ;) ill get sum pic on tuesday :D

Whilst on the topic of Dell'ortos, I have a few queries. First of all, are any of the jets compatible with Weber jets? I know that the chokes are different as are the emulsion tubes, but what about main/idle/pump jets and the air correctors? The reason I ask is because my local Mini parts supplier can get Weber bits for sure but not so sure on Dell'orto parts.

My other question is, how much do jets usually cost? Anybody recommend a good place to get Dell'orto parts from?

Anto I've been through all this recently.
No Dellorto parts interchange with Weber.
You can get Dellorto repair kits and jets from Carburettor Service Co on Parramatta Rd, Burwood (next to bus depot).
re chokes- they tried for 2 months to get me some 36s from NZ. No joy.
Good news is all parts are available (and cheaper) from www.dellorto.co.uk and I have ze current price list..

I just got my 2 chokes in from there, only took 1 week, cost 13GBP each and 2.95GBP airmail.
They take M/C & Visa cards, sorry no Amex.. 8)

Main jets 3.25
air corrector jets 3.25
emulsion tube 7.95
idle jet 2.95
chokes for 40DHLA carb 25-37mm 10.95
chokes for 45DHLA carb 31-40mm 13.95
