I am putting a Gti engine into a clubby and it will also be turbo...hmm Would a CT20 turbo off a GT4 Celica suit the Gti motor? Just have the chance to get a very good condition one for free plus a lot of other parts...so it it would work well then sweet as. They are meant to be pretty good and well sort after turbos, just not sure if it would go alright on the Gti engine. So anyone know? Cheers Todd |

The turbo off the GT4 is fairly small and may need a little bit of fiddling to spool up to what you want. I had one on a Datto 180B SSS and lagged a bit but when up and honking it was a hoot. Chech how you want to plumb it in and do all your sums before you commit though(not a big deal if you are getting it for free...). Being small may not be the issue when you bolt it to a mini though - small in name, small in nature, big at heart is what I say. Bottom line is I think it will suit and just have a look at where you want to plumb everything - on a small bore you could have a real rocket on your hands... The GTI is getting very poular now and for the fact that they are a little more efficient than the olde A-series...NA and turbo-ed GTI's just look like they belong there.... Hooroo Rob Forsyth |

Cheers for the reply Rob. Sounds like it should be a goer and can always swap things around later on...after all its FREEEEEEEE...not only the turbo, but a dump pipe, water-air intercooler and some other left over parts hmmmm sweet. Hopefully is a tyre shreading little beast, I'm sure it will put a smile on my face, and a brown stain in my jocks everytime I drive it. Yeah the GTi are a nice engine...I was going A series but it was far too much to build a fast, reliable A series engine ![]() Cheers for the reply. Todd |
