remote ones are fine over here i think, rod ones dont go on the aussie stick housings properly, the shift is very small, and probably would be a bit of a pain in normal driving, but its so much shorter then normal (well it was with my old one anyway).

I just got one in the mail, it's chunky & really cool. Gonna fit it tommorrow & will see if it's good, but so far I like. I got the first link style one.

Hutto driving... Time him with a date calendar. Boooring. But hey, his Mini will last him, not like some  Me? No, never

Anyways, i hated my quickshifter. Even after paying $200 for it. It was waaaay too tight with a fresh gearbox under it. Might be okay with a more 'worn' one. They are simply too short in the shift.

I wouldn't waste the money, mate. Spend your cash on some nice rims instead. Hint, hint

With late model Moke A+ donks and rod change boxes I reckon they are great. Sloppier than a d**k in a bucket beforehand, resemblance of something sporty afterwards. Done this in two such Mokes. Each to their own, I am a fan.

Mate......I bought my Mini with a quick-shift already in it and I love it. It's the best thing, really good.

Cheers

I thought I read somewhere (Calver?) that they can cause premature wear problems in the gearbox (selectors?). Can't recall if this applied to remote/ rod boxes equally....

yeah, i have one in my "S" & it`s sweet,,,had one in my Targa Tassie Rally car, it was sweet too...love em,,,nothing wrong with them, work great & there`s no problems with wearing anything out by using them, if something goes wrong after fitting one then there was allready a problem & not caused by the quick shift

Thats true only if you have a habit of leaving your hand on the shifter between shifts...with the quick shifter this accentuates the wear too as there is less pressure to do the damage.

The other thing with them too is that if you have a very ordinary gearbox to start with, the quick shift will amplify the slop in the box 100 fold.

That said - I have one and I love it!!!

I wouldn't buy the second one... The guy selling it already bought it off ebay abouot 2 weeks back...

And this person had stated that the ball is worn.. I'm guessing it's the same shifter.. I wouldn't buy it.
