Post subject:  Swival Hub and Drive Flange

G'Day all, I am just replacing my front bearings and I am having a bugger of a time separating the drive flange from hub.

I was curious if anyone has any tricks that can suggest as I don't have the BMC bearing removal tool. ;)

Thanks in advance for help with this guys and gals

Assuming it's a drum brake setup-
If it won't come out of hub use a slide hammer onto one of the studs.
If the inner ring of the bearing jams on and you can't pull it, there are a couple of options:

Method 1. carefully use an angle grinder to thin the ring down within 1 mm of the shaft, then hit the ring with a hammer & chisel- it will stretch or split.

Method 2. Run a bead of weld around the bearing inner ring, this will heat it heaps and it will fall off if you help it.

I made a BMC one- a length of threaded rod, a bit of thick plate, and a dead Morris 1100 harmonic balancer to supply the kinetic energy.:)
