Hi all,

I have just been working on my 9.25" Camira setup for my 78 Californian Moke however I am having trouble fitting the calipers into my 13" Sunraisias. Originally the plans were to use VL Turbo Calipers however, the cooling fins on the calipers fowled the inside of the rims. Yesterday I purchased a set of Camira Girlock calipers that only have the fins on one side of the caliper. At first glance however, I don't know if this is going to make any difference.
Has anyone any thoughts on how I could make this setup fit? I have heard that these setups can be fitted within 12" wheels. If so, what calipers were used to allow this and did it require shaving of the outside diameter of the disc?

Was your Moke factory fitted with front drum brakes? Ever tried one of your rims on a 8.4" disk Moke?

There are two types of Sunraysias. Allegedly one type for drum brakes, one type for disk, although the disk type was standardised at some point. The drum type do not clear the callipers on stock 8.4" disks.

You may have the drum type? :(

That's interesting. I wasn't aware of that! Yes my 78 Moke had Drum brakes and being an earlier Californian, I dare say that is the case with the wheels???

Anyone know if they can be modified to suit?

You can try spacing the rotor and calliper back towards the engine. I had to make spacers to fit minispares brakes to my Moke. It has the disc type Sunraysias and they cleared the standard disc brakes but wouldn't clear the 4 pot callipers when using modified metro drive flanges.

I got the 3 mm spacers laser cut. You can just see the big one between the drive flange and disc in this photo. I have donut ones between the hub and calliper.
