Post subject: | Twin 1 1/4 Carbies |
Hi, Would it be worth it fitting twin 1 1/4 carbies to a mildyly tuned 998 engine? And if i put them on what would be the best air filter to put on? At the moment its got a single 1 1/4 with a k and n filter on it. Would it be better to put k and n's on the twin carbies. Thanks. |

I had similar on a 998 several years ago , just put a good exhaust on as well as there's no point improving the breathing in if it's still choked on the way out . Not sure about air filters except I'm not a fan of the ramflo foam type ones , seen too many of them self destruct and make a mess in carby's etc . |

Twins are awsome.. excellent for torque! But remember they will be a pain to tune. I'd definatley upgrade the exhaust as sports850 has said if you haven't already, so it might end up costing you a bit. |

The foam in Ramflows can be improved on, see UniFilter for decent replacement pads. I've run a Finer Filter pad (same stuff, UniFilter bought `em) in mine for many years, I oil it every 6 months with the right oil and it's still fine. ![]() |
