Around $3000 for the engine and $1500 for the gearbox. Could be less, could be more, depending what state of tune you want and how much power. |

60 thou would be leaving you with no rebore afterwards. go to the next oversize and stuff a RE-13 cam in. Better off massaging ancilliaries rather than max boring it(sleeving it is then the only option) IMO only but a good exhaust and pipe, revamp the carby(SU or side draught)and a wee bit of head work will see your 1100 pulling stumps out(well maybe saplings...lol) Hooroo and good luck Rob Forsyth Miniot!! |

I had a freshly rebuilt 1100. Needed a lot of machine work. $1300 worth. Included full head rebuild, unleaded conversion. Also got everything balanced. Rest of engine build was $1700 or so. That was to take engine out of car, strip it, send it to get machined, get it all back, assemble it, and get it running. It depends on who you take it to, what state they get it in, and how much you want them to complete it for you. Will work out cheaper if u remove engine yourself and install it yourself. |

Amen Maxi - if you are wiley in the ways you can assemble it yourself and save a heck of a lot however you will be responsible for any breakages. The shops charge a fair bit for assembly and can really run your costs up. I did my 998 myself(nearly an 1100...lmao) except for the machining and cleaning - as yet I havent had it in the car and touch wood will work great guns. Hooroo Rob Forsyth Miniot!! |

Yep I agree with the above mentioned also...But I would get the Crank Crack tested while its out and any machine that may need to be done to it due to ware at the bearings. The Bores maynot even need touching with any luck or maybe just need a hon, but everything does need a good look over. Just go the next 20thou up on the bores Hothead ![]() First off I would get the box done first as this can be place under any block. I would also recomend a RE13 cam and get a job done on the head ![]() You can expect 40+hp at the wheels with a nice exhaust and Carby combination |
