Have been trying to find a second radiator for ages now to fit in my Clubman.
While at the car wreckers last weekend looking for civic brakes I saw a radiator sitting on the shelf which was perfect. Written on it was 84 subaru. Id say it is from the heater unit.
Dimensions are 190 mm high x 180 mm wide 16 rows of core x 3 cores deep.
This radiator and the 13 row oil cooler i will buy and fit next month should keep the 1275 cool on these hot Queensland days.

i think if u find a minimatic fresh air heater they're the best for a 2nd (auxiallary) radiator, and at the same time u can have a heater if u want

Yeah if you have the room... ie. no servo etc.

Otherwise any car's heater core will do. Just plumb it in from the back of the head, and position it where air can flow thru it. 8)

Has anyone tried mounting another mini radiator on the other front wheel well?

I have a morris 1100 heater core mounted to the grill just adjacent to the fresh air intake for the clubbys heater. Plumbing is a cinch but finding through bolts long enough was the biggest hassle. All fitted and I have had to block off the other side at times due to the car running too cold!! No need for another full radiator as this will probably do the trick. paint it black so you cant see it from the front...

even if it fitted it prob wouldnt work that well as there would not be any air fowing through, and it would need a electic fan to run it.

I have a Clubman heater core mounted behind the grille and above the starter on my roundnose van. It certainly keeps the engine cooler. I blank it off in winter with a piece of aluminium so it does not get any airflow, otherwise the heater (under dash late Rover Mini type) does not get hot enough!

Brett - my heater is permanently on and while it is a god send in the ACT during winter, it really sucks during the stifling heat of the summer. My shoes turn into size 8 ovens and have to rest them on the exhaust tunnel while driving on those long runs. However my pride and joy keeps on purring just above the cold level(mostly right on it!!) so I am happy that the heater core is doing its job at least.

If you fit a MiniMatic/Deluxe heater under the bonnet, with a bit of plumbing you can throw away that inside heater. More footroom then for your size 8s too.
