Post subject:  best bearings for disc brakes

Hi folks, just pulled apart my newly bought disc brakes, have got timken bearings in them. They look ok but I am going to replace them anyway to be sure. Is there a better brand to go for or are they an ok brand?
Thanks in advance!!!

Timkens ARE the best. They invented the tapered roller bearing...
There are other brands (some no-name) around now, they are cheaper but I doubt as well made.
If you replace them, buy them as a kit. The spacer between them is hand selected to match the 2 bearings in the kit. Buy loose industrial bearings, and you will have to mess with spacer thicknesses probably. Not good unless you know what you are doing...

That's another story, we won't go there...

Hey I thought some Jap bearings were crap, but Chinese ones are infinitely worse... their ball bearings usually have end float when new!!!
