hey

can you get forged pistons and other parts for mini engines or are there better things to use.

I would go for the genuine items myself.....forgeries can be dicey....search on Russell Engineering and his new range of Mini pistons :idea:

Minis (unlike Fords etc) already have forged rods and forged cranks. Never had cast ones.
Yes you can get forged pistons (from UK or US) for a price, but they are not the best for road cars- they expand much more and need bigger bore clearance. May be worth getting for turbos though I guess... if you got the do$h.

For most purposes, even racing, modern cast ones are fine. See the thread on Graham Russell pistons, Hypatecs are good too. :wink:
