I had a look at fitting my centre binicle today and well what i found was spaghetti any one in sydney any good at electric's i want to rewire the car but do a better job than what bmc and lucus did run a multi fuse box relays and such maybe even circut breakers like in a truck 
because with the 2 fuse system if a fuse crap's itself well you have a lot of traceing to do this way you know what each circut is doing any takers beer supplied makka |

If this is going in the `Deluxe' it's not real hard to suss out, there's hardly any wires there!. Wasn't that in there before? You need a good wiring diagram for an S etc with alternator,, not a Haynes manual one.. The one in Gregorys/Scientific Publications #64 is real easy to follow and is correct. It's on p207. I'll try and take a pic of mine tonite and upload it.

Makka, best thing to do is get a hold of an uncut wiring loom, or as near as possible. Clean it, Label everything, taking your cues from the in car one. Then you will know where it all goes when it goes back in. Then once you know what wire is what do your modification. I did my LS about 2 years ago before i sold it. It was wired up with relay's across most things. Where are you going to put your fuse box and relay's, in car or in the original position. The latter is the easiest option by far. The job to do properly will take a good solid two day to do and fault check. Sorry mate, i didn't like doing it on my car, so I ain't gonna put my hand up. Send it to an auto electrician... Money's not tight mate, it's the fist your holding it in that won't let it go. Seriously though, if you can get a loom and take your time, you will be fine. There just cables, and it's not like it hurts too much, it's only 12v. |

I was going to buy the replacement loom for the 78 clubman van.. theres a guy over here in Perth that makes/supplies them. I'll let you know how it goes, after I get a price and suss out how hard it will be to fit. |
