I had the same problem we I rebuild my mini. I reacon try changing the blubs and checking all earthing connections If that doesnt work check to see if you have voltage at the light bases using a multimeter I hope that help |

Is your right flasher working?? if it is it's not your flasher unit. |

The indicator bases (the metal thing that the bulb screws into) get old after 40 odd years, i should know, i got a Morris 850 too, and had this problem. They have a plastic insulator on the back to hold it all together and when that breaks it short circuits or doesn't make a circuit at all. So suss this out. You can test by turning og the indicator and fiddling with the bulb, moving in and out left and right to see if you can get a flash. |

Thanks guys. Yes the right hand flasher does work but LH doesnt but all the park lights work both LH and RH? so could that still be a faulty LH front flasher base? The other strange thing that is happening which could be related is that when i hook the horn up it goes without pressing the button? |

also try putting the car inreverse to see if the reverse lights come on, when you put you indicator on does it flass once or not at all, is that horn self grounding or does it ground at the button |

when i put my LH indicator on it doesnt flash at all,im not sure about the "self grounding'? it has two wire that plug onto the horn and is bolted to my front panel. |

most probally the prob is the horn is self grounding, the wires go bat+ > horn button > horn > then the unexspected grounding, try taking the horn off its bracket a sit it on a peice of paper or wood making no connection with the horn and the steel of the car, also another prob could be if its a horn botton thats located on the indicator stalk it could be related to the spring causing a bridge in the circuit |

Ive taken the horn off the body so its not mounted to any steel and it doesnt work, do you think it could be a switch problem which is making the horn stay on as well as the LH flasher not to work? hmmmmm wiring.......... |
