Do it.
But make it legal.
A one-piece flip front is a bulky and inconvenient item.... youre better off finding one that has a seperate bonnet.... it makes the small adjustments a whole lot less annoying.
Had one and loved it.

Hi guys, Does anybody have, or know where I can get information on fitting a flip front to a round nose, I did a search on through the forum but it came up with 47 pages of results - I thought it might be quicker to ask outright. Cheers Gig |

well fitting a flip front (in NSW) requires it to be manifactured from the original body pannels, suspension pick up points must remain , front subframe bracing must be added and diagional braces must be added to further brace the front subframe, coming from the shock mounting points in the inner guard to the front pickup points on the subframe. |

Unless it has no front, or a damaged front, I wouldn't recomend doing the conversion. Too much hastle, and very little look any good. |

where to get a flip-front hmm depends on how much money you have lots of money then just go into fiberglass place and ask them to make one (mold will prob cost round the 3g's mark to make and products round 1g's each) otherwise you just have to find someone that already has a mold was told there used to be a guy in brissy but don't know any more sorry |

I saw on the Mini Mania forum a link to the best flip front I have ever seen. It used all the original steel panels and had internal releases just like a bonnet. I have been looking for the post but can't find it now. From the photo I would have said it was unpickable from standard. |

Ditto. I reckon (My 2 cents) is they look cool in a show, but worse access to service items at the front of the motor. Perhaps make it totally removeable? If cost is a factor, why not fit some sort of quick release to the hinge mounts on the bonnet? I've seen some cool sets of four struts what hold the bonnet about a metre off the body to display it at shows - low cost & easy access. |
