Well this is a completely noooob kind of question isnt it... ![]() I am aiming for around 60-70 hp at the wheels for my 1100 build, just making sure its totally possible. I tried a few searchs and couldn't really find anything ![]() I'm thinking that with ~65 wheel horsepower and my mini weighing in at around 600kgs that it would have a nice power to weight ratio to give the ricers and their cannons a fair go (not really a priority, but would be nice ![]() Cheers, Sam |

Depends how keen the dyno is, they are all different. ![]() Ausmini has done 2 dyno days at MRC in Castle Hill, Sydney, using a Dyno Dynamics dyno in `shootout' mode. A N/A 1098 hasn't cracked 50 at the wheels there, yet. 47 was tops I think. These were all stock or modified road cars though, not racers. ![]() |

Probably better off with a 1275 mate. Not to say it's impossible, but it won't be easy. high 70hp is easy from a stock 1275 with a supercharger. A nice, stock 1275 will make 50hp atws. So your better off to start with a 1275 in terms of power. |

Well looks like I have a bar to raise then! ![]() ![]() I think most people would look at my list of things to do to my 1100 and would say WHY? I say why not!?... ![]() ![]() It's in my nature, I have to do everything the hard way... ![]() ![]() ![]() 70WHP 1100 FTW!! ![]() |

you'll definitely need boost to pull that kind of power in a street car. |

Mate go for it. I have not heared of one, and the biggest criticism that I have found out about 1098's (from others not experience) is that the crank is the weakest point. Make sure the one you are going has not been ground as yet. I know that when Ben built his 1098 turbo he made sure he had a virgin (so to speak) crank. |

have a read of graham russell's mini project in the mini experience. Everyone knows that he is the guy to go to for small bore or any A series work if you are serious about power. He got max torque at 5000 RPM ((90 lb/ft) and max HP at 6500 (94 hp) (A mumber of inlet manifolds were tried here. the max power was with his manifold and a 1.75 SU) Those are really big numbers and that was for a road going motor. Now Im sure he could have gotten more, but there was a lot of work that went into that motor. no harm in trying mate, just make sure you use good stuff! In terms of small bore go fast parts, Russell Engineering has probably the best small bore pistons available and a great set of extractors. PM me or add me to MSN if you need more info, ive just had some fun with my small bore project ![]() |

Just dont neglect your brakes if you are going for bigger power. Drum braks with that power would be pretty crappy. |
