Anyone seen this on ebay?

I'm looking for a 1275 to rebuild, would this be any good? If not can someone recommend somewhere that would sell a fairly cheap engine / gearbox?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=015

As far as i can tell its from a metro or something of the sort?

I don't know about the engine number, but I suspect it is out of a 1275LS, or maybe a Moke. It has the rear facing thermostat, so it is out of an Australian car with pollution control.

A little bit of Googleing and it appears a 12HC could be a MG Metro 1300 HLE engine - 1983 - 85 - A+
The pollution head points to this too.

I think he has misread the engine number, he listed 12HC2UHZCC****
and the 1275LS has 12H902UH00****.
So if you replace all his C's with 0's and add the missing digit between the H and the O it all adds up to a 1275LS engine.
Everything looks right for a 1275LS except the twin carbs and the Australian 1100 rocker cover.

Rod change box
Late fuel pump
Breather on timing chain cover
Rear facing thermostat cover
Pollution head
Late alternator
