Rods are being Held for me and new Pistons Ring and Bearings
Have a Kent 240 Spider Drive Cam I may put in rather than a RFE13 only as I have one sitting Around.
I have a couple of Flywheels sitting around and back plates..but will also need to get another clutch as ther one in the 1152 is slipping
Carb will stay the same HIF44 again and all the Rest...Pulsar dizzy / Box / will all be the Same as its being driven now

Question thou..as you can see in the first pic..I have (as you would expect from me) played with the wire wheel in a section..What do they look like when they have been dipped "I have a cunning plan, My Lord"

Dipped? Like to get all the paint and rust off?

If, a big yeah, do you want to chrome it?

But dam it would look awesome, if the block was polished all smooth. 8)

No not Chromed but am thinking of a clear coat and do know their is a product which can take the heat at the front but not the back.
No I'm not going to rub it back smooth... I like to polish but I'm not totaly mad  (some will say the contrary)

Any one got a pic of a block or head once its been diped

Hi Gaf,
Looking good mate, did you get the crank done at Spiro's?, i'll have to get mine done although I think thats the guy that GR uses so he'll prob be doing it. Your plans of only going out to the next size in the bore might not happen looking at the marks in the bore, I hope they are not to deep mate :( , worst comes to worst you might have to go 1360 or 1380 8) . By the way nice shiny parts look more bling when the block is painted gloss black,IMO...

Good luck Gerg

His crank is still std/std- I measured it, it has no wear so just needs a light polish.
The white & red stuff on it is the remains of the dyecheck (crack test) I did. No cracks anywhere so good to go. 8)

yer haddent notice the marks before and are on the fron side of the bore which is a littl confusing..so I think the 20thou want be enought also...I'll leave that up to GR
If i was going to get anyone to touch the crank it would be Spiro as he did my Cooper S Crank

It was a sports version of the Morris 1100 which came with a 1275 motor (unique to that car but not dissimilar to a cooper S in many ways). It had no removable plates on the back and came in both a small and large journal version during the life of the car.

for some reason they still referred to it as an 1100 (probably not to be confused with the 1300 and nomad 1500 range I guess). Lots of these motors have found their way into mini's over the years.

The Cooper S tax on genuine parts probably part of the reason. 8)

Hey Jim,

I got mine acid dipped and it came out clean but still patchy... just the traits of the metal and dipping.

Get cracking and polish it!!! Just keep polishing until you see yourself and then your set!!

:)

Pete.

They were trading on the sporting heritage of the Cooper `S'. Why they kept calling it an 1100 (when a 1275 lump) beats me. When the OHC Morris 1500 came out a bit later (same body really) they woke up to themselves, called the 1275 automatic version a `Morris 1300 auto'.

Sorry mate, that is all that came out.

Regardless of what anyone says, get your block dipped mate, it looks like it could use it, andfor the long run, i cant see why people dont... I NEVER EVER EVER have overheating in either of my motors that were dipped, but know of PLEANTY of motors that have been rebuilt that have probs with overheating.
