Finally got around to pulling the 1st motion bearing out of the flywheel housing using the Doc's method. And in doing so found a sight variation that could be of use to some. I couldn't get a thick washer the right size to fit inside the bearing shell so used two thin ones. I welded one to the head of the bolt to hold it in place and dropped the second one down on top and welded that one to the bearing shell. It all wound out as it was meant to and when the bits were disassembled the bolt with the attached washer is already for any other use and the washer in the bearing shell was binned with the shell - no need to recover the the washer out of the shell and saved time cleaning it up - all for the cost of a 20c washer
