I was having a little think last night and came up with this little(but rather expensive engine dream build) Ok..... here goes..... Obviously 1275 rebored to 1360 Then stroked to somewhere near 1412-1430 i'm guessing 8 port head Probably need somewhere near 13 dished pistons Sporty cam(RE13) then to top it off(if possibly as can imagine space might be tight) turbo'd The only bit i was thinking may cause issues is the turbo, but then again with not having the carb setup direct on the head.... Just maybe!! and it might fit in a round nose! But hey need some MAJOR lottery numbers for it to happen! LOL ![]() |

you're not thinking big enough ![]() my dream a series would go something like this... - twin OHC KAD 8 port with race cams - 1275 bored out .114" (1380 with standard stroke) with 86mm stroker crank - 1460cc - some of those "super you bute" custom made steel billet (I think) con-rods - injection and distributor-less ignition (use some fancy ecu to control everything) drop that all onto a KAD 5 speed box (apparently much stronger than other 5 speed boxes - 5th is still 1:1) running a LSD with some of those fancy minispares big competition drive shafts and big CV kits then hope like hell I didn't break it I'm sure there'd be much more if I could actually afford to go and build it ![]() ![]() ![]() |

3.1 LSD 5 speed fuel injection camshaft 2000-6000rpms If using a 5 port head, why would you bother with fuel injection when nobody had made port injection work properly, yet. You would have to move the injectors way back up into the plenum, might as well run a carb. ![]() |

Do you reckon you could run a turbo with an 8 port head? or would the piping be a bit too extreme and render it PANTS! lol |

Len Read from Vic use to run a turbo on an 8 port back in the late eighties. He won the Doug Byrne memorial race in it in 1989. It was regularly used in the super mini series. There was a feature on this car in one of the early mini magic? mags. |
