I have a Lucas electronic dizzy on my metro 1300, it has a 3 pin socket on the ignition module. like this: ![]() Does anyone know what each pin is so I don't fry the module? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Gig |

I believe that only 2 pins are used,,, i`ve fitted quite a few of these in the past & i have the diagram here in my computer somewhere, i`ll try to find it & post it up for you |

Yes, only 2 pins used: Top one goes to coil +ve, bottom one to coil -ve. If you are fitting this to an earlier car make sure that the wiring from the ignition switch to the coil +ve is direct (not via a ballast resistor or ballast wire). |

Hey thanks guys, Jules when you say earlier car, I have a new loom for a mk1 cooper s, so do I take it there is no ballast wiring? Gig |

By an earlier car I really meant anything earlier than about mid 1980s when electronic ignition started to be fitted as standard! I don't know whether the Mk1 S had a ballast resistor - but probably not. Anyone? |

BG, Oz Minis never had ballast wiring. If you need to run a ballasted coil (1.5 ohm) just buy a ballast resistor from Supercrap etc and wire it in series. ![]() |
