Post subject:  Vacuum advance with SC12

In the next few weeks I will finally get around to fitting the SC12 supercharger kit.
I've got a HIF44 to use with it but have a couple of questions :

- the distributor on the motor (1275A+) has a vacuum advance but I don't see where to connect this to on the HIF44 (or the carb to SC12 manifold) What have you guys using this set up done?

- As I look at the HIF from the airfilter side I can see the fuel inlet pipe on the left behind the throttle linkage, but on the right are 2 more pipes. one is larger diameter than the other. I believe one is a vent and the other is an overflow. Which is which and how do you plumb them up.

On my sc12 set up im running no vac advance just bloked the vac advance nipple. the sc12 pipes join to each other, the larger of the 2 closer to the airfilter is something like fuel breather and the other one im using to suck a side cover to release crankcase pressure a little. (im probably using the wrong words to describe what i mean but the experts will be able to help more)

I don't bother with vac advance.

One connector on the side of the carby you connect the supercharger vent pipes to, the other is for fuel bowl venting (I vent that to atmosphere).

The vac advance nipple should be at throttle shaft end on top of the carby, however some HIF6s that I have don't have this, so depends on the carby itself.

Thanks again guys. I'm thinking about drilling the carb body and mounting a nipple on it so I can run vacuum advance. I think the nipple should be just on the airfilter side of the butterfly. Is that right?

Vacuum advance should be on the motor side of the throttle disc, otherwise it will never see vacuum.

In the UK you can get a plate with the vac advance nipple in. It fits like a spacer between the carb and inlet.
