had dramas with my mates moke over the past couple of days..

seems to have lost power that is really noticeable in 4th gear going up hill. ive had to cog 3rd on hills it would normally cruze straight up..

taking off 1,2,3 seems to be alright but really noticeable in top gear it doesnt seem to want to rev out and pick up speed.

the plugs seem ok and when i take the leads off one by one and listen to the the revs drop but more seems to make a difference more than the rest.

we have played with the timing and it could possibly be any where now.. and ive set the fuel mixture to where i heard the highest sounding rpm

any help would be great!

I'd say check the timing again, do you have a timing light? How old is the set up? points, condenser, leads plugs etc.
If that's fine it might be going lean but I doughty it if it's only noticeable in 4th... :?

Ok,,, that`s cool,,, now you have sorted the "Main" problem,,, now go back to the carby mixture nut & wind it down (richer) until the revs just drop a tad,,, only a tad mind you,,, setting the mixture at the highest idle/rev is simply too lean,,,ok?
