Post subject: | late braking |
Been going through my brake options and wanted some info. I believe some clubmans came out with disc brakes. Mine has drum set up. If I can source later model brakes, do i need to just grab the assemblies and the swivel or do i have to grab flanges etc If i have to take it back to the uni's how hard is that to do with engine etc in place? cheers Mark |

clubbie 1275LS or Moke Californian, and all UK minis built after 1984 (I think) had 8.4" disk brakes, cannot use these brakes with 10" wheels. At least $650 for a secondhand set, the mini places will sell a reco set for around $1200, OR you can read through the thread on fitting honda brakes, consider camira brakes also, can get away with a set for a few hundred (by the sounds of it) but you should get them engineered... |

Yeah I read through the honda one a while back, just wondering though if I were to find a set, which parts to scavenge off the mini and how easy they are to remove etc At the moment just looking for drums over here(WA) but if i manage to find any bonuses through my travels, be nice to know what to grab and the easy way of removing it. Thanks for the rough prices. Cheers Mark |

the extra price of S brakes is cheaper in the long run, they may be $1500.but go under any mini wheels, with 8.4's you will need 12's or 13's. i like S brakes but id rather have 8.4's as they stop like nothing else ![]() |

if you buy a set S brakes, you bolt em on,no worries, with the 8.4's they are what,$600-$1000 a set, then another $1000 for wheels to cover em.... but always remember, your brakes are only as good as your tyres! |
