What engine work have you done to your 998/1100 engine Like cam, Crank, rockers, flywheel, what compression, Carby. The plan for me is 1100 crank with all the good stuff done to it, re13 cam, hif38, 12g295 head, Lightened flywheel, rebuilt gear box. with a 998 engine and the hif38 SC12 and 295 setup any Su needle sugestions I know this is a stab in the dark but worth a try. |

If the 295 hasn't been shaved at all, run standard dish pistons, you should have a good compression ratio? You can just get away with a 1.75" carb on an NA 1100, so i'd be running an HS6 or HIF44 on it. |

How much boost are you planning on running? That will determine the compression ratio, but I'd stay around the 8.5-9-5 mark depending. Ideally you'll want to run a HIF44 rather than the 1.5" to get the most out of your setup. Graham Russell makes an FI version of the cam called an RE13T, a few on here have used it with great success. Try to find a virgin 1100 crank which hasn't had a regrind yet as you'll want all the meat you can get in the journals. Ah, that's about all I can think of atm... ![]() |

The only way to know re- the needle is to get a Rolling road operator to create a custom version. If I was running my 998 again I would try a 38 before the 44 IMO I think the 44 is a bit too big. ( I run a 44 on my 998 sc12 kit). I did some plotting of the needle I use ans Ben has listed his needle dimensions here, however this will only get you close, you still need a RR session. http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... light=sc12 I ran 8.7:1 on my 998 at full chat the Megajolt ECu was showing 10.5 PSI. |
