Hi i just bought an 123 ignition distributor and it has no vacuum port to connect to there is a screw in the side of the unit where i believe the port connection should be have i been sold a dud? or is the connection just missing and been replaced with the srew?the manual that came with the unit shows an vacuum sensor connection and says to disconnect the vacuum tube when fine tuning the ignition.So the big Q where is my vacuum connetion?should i have one? :roll:
Any help greatly accepted.

There is more than one model of the Dizzy, one with and one with out the vacum unit. A+ non A+ etc

Check with the suplier

Most have no vacuum & are strictly mechanical advance

Is having no vacuum advance going to reduce fuel economy at part throttel becouse im wanting to set the motor up for economy over power as i believe the vacuum advances the timing under high vacuum to improve fuel economy is this right?

Mine has the vacuum port which I have capped because I am using a 45 Webber. You might be better swapping yours for the same one with the port. If it is still unused and you got it from Ted Cross in Melbourne he will swap it for you.

Hi this distributor is going on an 850 that will have a 12g202 head and supa pipes with RC40 exhaust standed cam and bottem end at this stage.So i think i need the vacuum advance on the dizzy?
