It is rather a long drive - about 7 1/2 hours by Mini ![]() Brian at Link has a demo car which, if you speak to him nicely, you can try before you buy (I suppose that's a maybe - but I enjoyed my ride). I suppose it does really depend on fast you want to go (measured of course in $$$ ![]() Cheers, Ian |

do a search for the sc-12 supercharger kit, there'll be plenty of juicy info there for ya. i've had some success (at the dyno day) and some failure (of 2nd gear) ![]() still i've got enough in my 11psi 1360cc to beat an 08 polo gti uphill with a crazy redhead driver in it ![]() and thats exactly why i boosted mine in the first place. i wanted enough power to play with the modern sports cars at trackdays etc. |

It depends what you're after really. As odd as it sounds, my supercharged mini (1330cc, almost stock Cooper S including cam, sc12 blower ~6psi boost max) is very driveable. I live in the hills and love cruising around in top gear where in other minis (and many other cars) I have to shift down to keep the pace. In this Mini I can can just add a bit more juice and it purrs along nicely. It won't beat gti Polos and other 'quick' cars though I wouldn't think, but my cars not about that (only about 82hp atws). But the mid-range torque is amazing. The part throttle acceleration is great and 80-110kph overtaking is easy in 4th. Search for sc12, you know you want to... |
