Post subject:  7"discs to suit rear
set of 7" discs to suit the rear swing arms.
the rotors are off a diahatsu handyvan front[std size 7" DBA 493]
the calipers are alloy off a magna rear TN [late 80's 4 stud wheels] the sedan has 30mm pistons and the wagon has 35mm pistons.
the hubs are std trailer hubs to suit mini and are fitted with holden wheel brgs. the stubs are trailer 38mm short machined to fit swing arm

these fit 10" mags but there are 8"rotors [solid or ventilated ]that can also be adapted for bigger wheels

Real nice Dave :D I was making similar ones for Mokes back in the 80's. It looks like we also need to use a Bowden type Cable for the Handbrake, would that be right?

Are you offering yours commercially?

the all up weight of the disc/caliper on these brakes is less than std spacer drums/back plates etc.
the off set can be set to what ever is required by adjusting the thickness of the spacer between hub and rotor and the position of the caliper mount.the stub axle is just machined to the required length.
the hand brake cables are off the magna as well. they are longer but can be looped around in subframe. the ends have 6mm threads that fit into std mini handbrake lever. no more exposed cables rusting and jambing up .
the weight can be reduced by using a alumin hub and spacer instead of cast iron. I am making some up that have alloy hub and spacer all in one piece.

That looks pretty neat David, great thing for those with little wheels.
Is there a problem with the grease cap fitting into mag wheels that have a centre cap, it looks like a fair way from the wheel mounting face to the cap.

I seen others with Honda floating disc's fitted over standard mini hub and ford wagon calipers but these will only fit 13" wheels.

the hole is for a std shocker set-up, but for the coil overs on this car there is a strong bracket mounted to the end of the stub axle and also to the adapter plate. A pissy 3/8" bolt will not carry the full suspension load.

as for the dust caps, the car that these are on has a set of 10"x 6" minilites with caps and the hub fits in .

The first ones I used the std mini hubs with new axles, but for less the $100 you can get trailer hubs with holden brgs, and stub axles. cheaper than std mini rear brgs.
I will post some pics of them set up on the car
. I hope to have it all finished with a t/c eng for the mini's at the mill

Up-date
here are the pics of the set-up on the back of the car with the coil-over shockers.
The caliper bracket is the std magna one and I machine the curved bracket along the original step and fit into the new position and bolt on with 4 5/16" cap head bolts.

the top bracket to mount the shocker is off a 80's subaru wagon. I just profile the top to fit the wheel arch and the mounting lugs bend to fit ti acrch curve.

dead easy. a manual operated brake biasing valve mounted next to the drivers seat. just turn the knob to what ever you want.
