I was talking to a mini person the other day and he said with some of his cars he used the heater exchange as an extra radiator mounting outside the front of the car.

I don’t know if anyone else has tried this but he said it works

yep i got one mounted below the bumper just inside the engine bay

i got a two "t" pieces plumbed in and two taps so i can select either the indorre heater for winter and direct it outside for the summer. that way i can still have the fan on in summer to bring outside air in without it being heated up

it works a treat

I have one of those stock in my `wasa Minimatic', it's called a fresh air heater.
Works real good at keeping the 1360 cool. 8)

<edit> a Clubby heater core fits nice in a roundy, between the alternator and the dizzy. Attach it to the grille vertical strut with some cable ties, and rubber strip in between.
Cut the 2 pipes off a bit, as they are too long. No need to flare them though with wormdrive hoseclamps.

I have set up a big oil cooler unit off a saab turbo as a radiator for cooling.
the cooler runs" paralell" to the radiator/ heater core. the fitting on the head has a 3 way v/v and the outl let of the heater had a "T" fitting running back to the radiator hose into pump.

When it's 40 + the water passes thru the "cooler" which is mounted similar to rad but on R.H side. then in winter the cooler is by-passed and the heater is used.
