Hi!

Anyone runing such a system? Especially reliability would be interesting (such as durabillity of the catch valves).

Is it actually worth it for a road motor (1275cc, ~100hp)?

I'm probably going to fit a K head so good vacuume would help oil drain a bit I guess. But if you have to put in a new valve with every oil change (daily driven) I'd be quite annoyed :) It's not a race car...

And final question: what would be a sensible (negative) pressure level? I don't want it to suck all the oil out of bearings or such :)

Cheers,
Jan

we had it in one of our speedway cars years ago (The superCharged one) , but it didn`t seem to be any different to the breathers just shoved into a catch bottle tho,,, altho it was "Less-smelly" in the engine bay
:-)

& sorry, no idea how low the pressure was,

I have no experience with it myself so I thought I'd consult vizard.

He claims power gains by using positive ventilation, aparantly his tests indicate around 2hp on a big bore engine.

He also says that he achieved up to 36" of water which is quite a lot!
A few points he makes are;
- after about 15" of water the seals start letting in air
- under vacuum the dizzy doesn't recieve enough lubrication and so it will need greasing regularly
- The dipstick will also let in unfiltered air

But on his diagrams he doesn't show any pressure limiting valve so perharps the pressure limiting is by design?
