Has anyone had any experience with Gaz 36 point adjustable dampers? How do these compare with Koni Yellow's as I know the Koni's are only adjustable on the bump where as the Gaz are simultaneous bump & rebound adjustment from what I've been told. Happy Mini-ing!!! Daniel |

The Gaz shocks are a good sports road shock so is the Koni, Yes Gaz are adjustable on both rebound and compression, I think the ratio 3:1.... And the Koni’s are only adjustable on the rebound. Konis still are the choice of most Nb racers.... It comes down to what the shockers are going to be used for????? Street or Street/Track or Racing????? After doing some research both types of shocks still have to be modified for the track if racing..... They change the valving, the seals and fluid in the shock to cope with the extra load..... Hope this helps. |

I recently removed the Koni's from my Nc car and replaced with the GAZ and Im pretty happy with them, They are 40% bump & 60%rebound on each adjustment........ Taken me a couple of meetings to get them right, I changed to them as I wanted to be able to adjust them without removing the shock........Mine have not been re-valed but I can see that this could be an advantage with the rears in particular. I am having similar experience... Had Koni Reds on the Nb car - and was trying to adjust the back - real pain. (and turns out my handling issue was a loose trailing arm ...but anyway ...) Put on some GAZ I had ready for my project car - and very happy so far. Can literally adjust in 5 seconds - don't even need to take the wheels off.... So can quickly try new settings and dial in quickly. Ordered a set to replace all on the Nb car. I also undertstand they are used by the Mighty Mini bunch in the UK (GAZ are a sponsor and these are a "control" item ) http://www.mightyminis.co.uk/ See the Regulations tab So should be suitable for the "job". Have yet to try on a road car..... better get back to the garage and on with the project.. so I can ! |
