hey guys im just up to getting final things together for my turbo build im running an 1100cc engine and around 7 pounds boost does anyone have any suggestions on good compression ratios??? Thanks James |

I'd say around 8:1 to 8.5:1 maybe 9:1 if the engine is built to handle the pressure ![]() |

thanks im just worried about mt head coz there isnt alota meat left on it, so ile probably be looking at a decompression plate ![]() |

should work on stock compression, avoid a decomp plate if you can. do a bit of a search in this section and you'll find plenty of info. |

thanks will do, what a disadvantages of a d/c plate? would i be better off taking some meat from the compbustion chambers? |

the d/c plate increases the chance you wont get a good seal on the head or the gasket, and it will increase the chance of blowing the gasket. I havent had any issues with mine but i have seen/heard of others having issues. take your cc's out of the chambers or the pistons if you can. with only a modest 7psi you may not need to take much or any depending on how much your block/head has been decked. my engine is running 8:1 but with 11-12psi |
