| Post subject: | Different dipsticks |
Went to start the rebuilt 1965 998 engine yesterday and found that the dipstick did not come back from the engine shop. 
Didn't think it would matter because I have a few from circa 1976 Mokes - but they don't fit!!!!! Is there an easy fix or do I have to drive an hour to retrive the old one.

You can use the early round one or the later flat one, as long as you use the right dipstick tube. The later tubes were plastic. |

The later tubes were plastic. Yep - the mokes I have are metal tube and the one in the mini block is plastic. Time is against me so might try to grind down to fit (seems the metal tube stick has a metal collar that doesn't go into the plastic tube. |
