Red bit- no extra spring is used. There is a torsion spring on there already. Blue circle- you need a cable anchor bracket (for that carby) to hold the throttle cable and return spring. |

It's a plate with a 45mm hole in the middle, has 4 bolt holes to fit your carb, it sticks upwards to hold the cable shroud and downwards, where it holds the return spring. Check any stock Mini with an SU and you will get the idea. You can butcher an HS4 one about to fit, but it's better to source the right one. These are a bit scarce now (mine came from Mini King, S/H.) |

Your green line in the pic is for the choke cable, not the accelerator ![]() |

You would have to make something up to do the same job. |

blue ringed thing is the throttle,,, green line will be choke cable & yes, you`ll need a cable retainer (inner & outer) inner for the lever circled in blue & the outer cable retainer needs to be anchored by a manufactured bracket of some sort, with it`s alignement & "swinging" correctly in-line with the throttle lever (circled in blue) ![]() you`d probably want to "un-Adjust" the throttle strop screw a tad before setting up the throttle cable tho,,, then re-adjust the throttle stop for correct idle |

I just replaced my yesterday after it broke real easy to do make sure you adjust the length going trough the two nuts that told it otherwise it might not be in an idle position causing the car to rev high ![]() |

The choke has a return spring built into the mechanism, the throttle does not. You need to fit a return spring to the throttle, not to the choke ![]() |
