i believe i may be buying a late model 1275 for meeni, its an efi engine im told, what diff ratio do they run? what sort of freeway rev's will i be looking at, i run 10's with fairly chunky rubber on them.. i dont like an over revving car on the highway.

The sportpacks came with a 2.7, but its more likely to be a 3.1, pretty sure the 12 inch cars got those.

I you know the engine number you can work it out on the following site
http://www.guess-works.com/Gearbox/Technical/engine.htm
If not read through the links on the above page, you will find the info you are after.
Also has a good ratio calculator
http://www.guess-works.com/Gearbox/Technical/ratio.htm
Cheers Pete

P.S I have a 3.1 in my SPI with 12's and it is around 3500 at 110km/h.

The Rover 3.1:1 ratio is a good hwy ratio, good on fuel too for longer distances, it you use it regularly in traffic it will be a little slower off the line, also you will need to recalibrate the speedo if the one you use now suits a 3.44:1 ratio
.

Some of the Single point injection engines/gearboxes got a 3,21 :) Now that's a mighty fine diff ration with 10" wheels :)

Generally (not always) the injected engines ran a 3.1:1 diff, it was in 97 when the engines changed to MPI they dropped the ratio again to 2.7 something.

That's part of why when you compare the 0-100 times for a SPI vs MPI they're virtually the same. The MPI engine would ordinarily have more power, but it's lost in the gearbox.

What the japanese late model engines had I don't know. Probably should check one day.
:D
