Hi Guys, Felt the need to spread the word on a small issue I had on completing an engine rebuild. Since I'd converted to elec ignition, I needed to get my (late clubman) tacho sorted to run from the new signal. A calibration wouldn't go amiss, either. And while I was at it, the speedo was a bit lazy from 80k up. Easy sorted, I thought. Booked the car in with a certain gauge specialist in West Heidelberg (we all know the one) and away we went. ![]() When I got the car back I knew by the time I was shifting into second gear that the tacho was woefully out. ![]() ![]() Being pressed for time, I drove home and rang up the next day to raise the issue. The excuses flowed like water. No offer to try to sort either issue was made. Now I didn't go back there to rant and rave cos my blood pressure is high enough as it is. Suffice to say, I've forked-out $650.00 of my hard-earned to an "expert" and ended up no better off for it. ![]() ![]() ![]() To add insult to injury, I managed a better tacho calibration with a half-hour of tinkering at home with a multimeter and a couple of tiny screwdrivers. ![]() OK. Nuff said. Be warned. Apparently the guy in Ringwood is very good. We'll see. |
