Post subject:  Link Automotive supercharger?

Looking at different ways to modify the heart of my mini, different engines etc, but thinking rather than going thru all the engineering hell of a different make engine, maybe just a supercharged baby instead, has anybody got 1 of these? What are they like?, performance wise, fuel consumption etc

cheers & thanks

Rohan

the SC12 kit is a manifold and other parts developed by Ben (and others?) who is a member on the forum. It uses the SC12 supercharger which was used on older Toyotas like the AE86 and various others.

It fits into the mini with little modification. Bens kit comes with all the parts you need to install it. You need the actual supercharger and a carby tho.

pm him for more details or do a search for it. heaps of info on the forum

Im also setting one up!

ill let you know when i get it done you are more then welcome to check it out.

should be all going in maybe 2 months.

should have about 80 to 90Atw's and totally workable for a everyday car :)

just drop the compression of the head & maybe strengthen few things if you want to.

run a cross pin diff.

and you need a mild cam. like a 266 or 276. could go a re13T they make good power like O=MY GOD! power. at a gear box price ;)

um wow thats a lot of money for a supercharged motor, that i assume would not a 'off its nutter' s/c motor??

OR is that fully worked - ie head flowed, lightened conrods, cross-pin/AT diff etc

Does that include a gearbox as well?

You can now get a crossflow head and twin webers for a lot less.

Bens SC12 Kit is great fun and if you have a motor already together its an easy bolt on performance. However a strong new engine and gearbox is a good idea. Also Link can tune them up for you if you have trouble with the carby.
