Just wondering what sort of front seats people have installed in their Mini?

I fitted a pair of Mazxa MX-5 seats into a clubby.
They fit really well, lots more front/rear adjustment + recline/headrest/lateral adjustment 8)

Metro seats. They were in it when I got the car, and while they're not mint, they are very comfortable and supporting. Not too hard to get into the back seat and not too wide.

A mate had a Mini with Daihatsu Charade Turbo seats. Fitted beatifully and very comfortable. (That Mini is still in Geelong somewhere. You may have seen it Poeee, it's dark blue with a white roof and silver contessa rims. 1275, twin carbs and DRUM BRAKES.)

Another mate has Suzuki GTi seats. They look quite neat too.

I had seats from a 98 excel in there, as well as the sparcos from when I bought mine.
If anyone want the excel seats let me know. :D

my Mini had a set of Honda CRX Recaros in it when i bought it. they were very wide, and the passenger seat interfered with the gearstick when it was in second. they weren't engineered at all, and were just bolted straight in via some holes in the floor. needless to say, they didn't pass any RWC, and i went back to standard mini seats.

but just to remember them by, my car pops out of second gear quite easily now.

Ok what is the best way for mounting the seats especially into the front cross member.... Bolts all the way through? or Bolts through top and holes cut in the side of the cross member and nuts fed in through the side hole???

Cheers Gerard

Right throught the floor with a mounting plate underneath to spread the load through the floor. That's how mine is done at least..

I just had a squiz at some Daihatsu Feroza seats at the local wreckers and looks like they would fit ok with a few mods to the runners???

Seem cheaper to buy them than do up the old seats in the LS...

I had Alfetta GTV seats in mine for a while. The mounts I made (to try out, of course) were Dexion slotted angle painted black....
Anyhow they were too heavy and bouncy so I gave away and put 1x Cobra Trophy fixed bucket in, and a crap 850 seat for the passenger. 8)

Mine are the same as Mini Mad's

I made my own brackets to suit the existing seat mounting points...
