Hi Everyone,

Well, ive bitten the bullet and 92 is kindly making me an sc12 kit :D It is going on a nice mild 1275, its fairly similar spec to a metro lump, 266 ish cam, 8.8:1 compression.

So, What needles did you start with? What spec are you running, oh and hpw much POWA you got?

I will be attaching a wideband to make sure i get the tune right, but interested to know where people have started needle wise?

I imagine i will start by pinching the one from my mates ERA while hes not looking :P

metro turbo needle will be much too lean - it's a wierd one, and I'm not sure why, but no good...

I started with a worn out and knocked around SY needle, and stayed there, it's good  I haven't had the sensor up it's bum for a while, but have the head off and the valves, plugs and pistons are all in exactly the right condition (except for the one piston & valve that got a bit too friendly)

What Carb are you using - SY is an "HS" series needle yes?

SY is a fixed needle for .100" jet. Used in HS6 but I think can be adapted to HIF (but I've not done it).

Boy it has a weird profile though- it goes rich as hell once past station 8 (compared to my OA6 in NA 1412 stroker)

try a BCG then!! Mini66 is running one with his SC12 and still has a lean spot!

the SY I have has already been filed and mucked around with - I should measure it I guess

good luck with the build. I love hearing about a new Sc12 set up, i started with a metro turbo engine and put the kit on that i cant help with needles as i gave up and left it to a pro. Power output is easily at 100hp. As a daily driver driven fairly hard the gearbox still did 3 years and at that didnt kill the syncro. Im ranting now but 92 Ben has made a brilliant kit and has been nothing but supportive and helpful.

Hope all goes well.

thanks chris! I am sure it will go well, My mate has an ERA turbo, so it will be interesting to compare the two! Cant wait for the kit to arrive!
