Post subject:  Rebuilding disc brakes.

I have some 8.4" disc brakes. Complete set of used parts I will need to install into my car.
They are currently not in the best of condition, though I could put them in my car tomorrow (if I had it) and they would work fine I'm sure.
I am going to completely dismantle the brakes, clean up, powercoat/anodise/paint components and fit new anything if required. I already have new rotors and pads.

Anything I should know about what I'm about to do? Hints, tips, anything that should be done that could be overlooked?
Any help appreciated,
Thanks.

buy new ball joints etc, new pads and discs would be good too, when u take em apart try to use a rattle gun, they make a potentially dangerouse knuckle job easy :) i have one if u wanna come borrow it, fits on ya compressor and works, when it feels like it wants too lol

My dad runs his own buiness from home, so I've got everything I need, and if I don't, I'll borrow them from work. Thanks anyway.
I have discs and pads, even though the originals are still pretty thick anyway, I'll clean them up too, and keep them as spares. Are ball joints expensive? The ones on these are pretty good still, I think.

if they are good dont bother, they shouldnt be too loose in the joint, if they are add a couple of shims, then if that fails its time for new ones!

If balljoints are loose you take shims out to make tighter, not put in.
Have a good look at the ball and socket faces- if worn oval then it's time for new parts..!
