Hey everyone,

One chunk of data I'm missing from my collection is Lucas Australia part numbers. For example, does anyone have the application list for a 29D dizzy, AYG 2153, 62941071?

I know 29Ds are pretty crap (esp when they wear) but before I try and source a replacement, I want to know what the specs on the current one is!

I can't seem to find anywhere (online) that has lists if the Oz part numbers, some I know from other sources (like AYG 0156 is 1098) but a definitive list would be sooo handy...

cheers,

Jacob

Hi Jacob,

If you are looking for an accurate list of all Lucas 29D distributors showing the Lucas part number, BMC/Leyland part number and application I'm not aware of one. Data in the Lucas Australia parts books (AV2, AV3 and AV4) and BMC Mini parts catalogues I have is full of errors. For example, AV3 says 62941071A was fitted to the 1275 engined Morris 1100. The factory parts manual for the Morris 1100 (PUB1013M) says the distributor for this engine is 62041036A (should be 62941036A - typical error). Distributor numbers are also in the factory workshop manuals but I don't have the Morris 1100 one (try morris 1100 - I'm sure he'd have one).

Here's one that was on eBay recently -

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0611447276

If there's a specific part number you'd like me to look up please ask.

Doug

Thanks for the response Doug.

Well, well, well! That's the dizzy in my 1100 S, I wasn't sure if it was stock or not, but now I know ;)

I have "cut-down" parts book for the 1100 (can't remember the HYL # here at work) which seems to be made late 66 or 67 (1100S is 12Y motor, 3.76 diff, no mention of 12YD or 4.1) but the part number is nothing like the AYG 2153.

My 1100/1100S factory manual again does not list the 2153, it has another number.

Sounds like getting copies of AV2, 3 & 4 might be my best course of action.

cheers!

Jacob

The original blue fabric covered loose leaf M1100 parts book is HYL2780, replaced by the later PUB1013M.

The Lucas parts books come up on eBay and elsewhere from time to time. Make sure you get the Australian ones. In the meantime I can send you some scanned pages of the section where M1100 is mentioned if you PM me your normal email address.

Ok now I'm home, the parts book I have is HYL3698/2 "Morris 1100 Series".

Like I said it's cut-down, seems to be one you'd use in conjunction with the mini one (like most of the engine sections are missing, for example)

It lists the 29D for the 1100S as 62041036, again repeating the same error!

The factory workshop manual just says the type is "29D4" but gives no model #'s, but gives timing data :?

cheers

Jacob
