Hey all.

Many may frown on this idea, but i think it would be cool to have an exhaust flame thrower on the clubby :)

Only issues would be if i can use a standard spark plug and if i rig up a coil to a switch and press it, if the flame would continue to burn or stop a few seconds after?

most flamethrower kits switch off your ignition while your still moving so unburnt fuel gets chucked out the exhaust and gets ignited by the spark plug mounted 15cm in from the end of your exhaust pipe

i fitted a kit to my brothers datsun 1200 but could never get it to work properly.. when tested without the engine running you could see the spark plug working fine but when the motor was running it never 'flamed' up.
i wasnt game to look up the exhaust pipe when the engine was running to see if it was still sparking..
pretty sure that kit had a 12v 30A automotive relay set up to switch on/off rapidly which switched a high power transistor to charge/discharge a 12v ignition coil..

then a friend of mine had one fitted to her clubby and it worked a treat for about half an hour till her engine blew up

This sounds like a very bad idea.

Sounds unsafe, not to mention very out of place on a british classic..

There sometimes can be a very fine line between looking cool and looking like an idiot.

Mini = cool
Flamethrower = cool
Mini + flamethrower = idiot.

haha yea maybe.
like sxc_clae said. the biggest worry is the flame travelling back along the exhaust into the motor. I dont think id do it just because of that possibility.
