Hi all, Anyone running the GR pistons on a 998 at +80 with 10 tho off the top and a 6cc dish in them? Do they standup to some boost say 12PSI with one of ben's kits? thanks for any help Graham |

Hi Graham Got your message why would you want to machine a dish in them we run them with 12 lb boost with 10.5 / 11.o to one with out any problems, with a std head and .060 over size you'll only be around 9.5 to one which will not be a problem. Graham Russell |

Hi GR Im running suck through one of ben92's kit so I don't have the luxury of an inter- cooler I do run a bit of water from 5 psi, I currently run 8.7:1 on standard 998 pistons... How will this effect them, surly I need the cr to be a bit lower than in the 9's Thanks for any help as I need to place the Order ASAP. Graham |

I have done some quick calcs as I don't have the head with me at the mo but if I loose the 6cc in the std pistons the cr jumps up from 8.7:1 to 10.92:1 as I say if I have my maths correct... That on a 998 with a 296 head with 25cc I the head. |

Hi Graham With plus .060 you will be around 10.1 to one at plus .080 you will be around 10.3 to one. Not a problem on 12 lb boost. Graham Russell |

GR sorry to go on about this point but surly 12PSI with the CR in the 10's is way too high when you cant intercool the charge? The intake temps will be hotter than the sun? and give me liquid pistons? The question is that I'm happy with 8,7:1 and it has been proven with std pistons on my car. Can I put a 6cc dish into the piston or will it remove too much material for them to be stable? Thanks for your help |

Hi Graham 10 to one will be fine, have faith, get your timing right no worries. If you melt them i'll give you a set for nothing ![]() Graham Russell |

GR were you using a rotex charger? which seems to help with the higher CR? Also what timing where you using on boost. I have megajolt so can set it to what ever I wnt, but dialing too much out defeats the object? Going to make a purchase tomorrow........ Still want to stick a dish in them... |
