I've used one before. It was on a 2.5 litre engine. Possibly might be a bit much for the old A series. ![]() |

Look at the car it came off, what size engine and how much boost did it make originally. Then you can compare, roughly how it will perform on a smaller engine. My guess is it will take a while to spool up then hit you with a lot of boost, in other words you'll suffer major turbo lag then start to build boost half way through your rev range, but then you'll have to change gears so it won't be the most pleasant setup. It can be calculated but you need all the info on what the turbo can do first. |

its off a 2L motor, i know turbomini guys used the gt17 turbo off a saab 9-3. they are a 2L motor so i thought that turbo would be ok. i know that the saabs use the T04 turbo. which is the bigger turbo. most people with foresters get rid of them in favor of the t04 from the wrx. thats why i have the option to get it for free. |

If it's free and in decent condition definitely grab it, you might use it or sell it or give it away but if it looks like it may be useful then you'd be silly to pass it up. |

The TD04L that is on some WRXs is a good size for a 1.3L 16V Suzuki motor. If the Forrester turbo is smaller, then it might be a good fit for a big A series. |

it'd at least be useful for dummying up a manifold... |

the TF035 is a common swap on 1.3L starlets as well for those that want more response than the TD04L - Still not going to be the most responsive but depends what you're going for.. |
