Started stripping mt head down and noticed this is broken.
I think i know the answer but im guessing this is a doors stop?

Started stripping mt head down and noticed this is broken. I think i know the answer but im guessing this is a doors stop?

It is just the valve guide that is shattered. I'm not sure how it happened, but it can be easily pressed out with a new one pressed back in in a few minutes if the head is off. Out of interest, how did you shatter it so badly? Where did the shattered bits end up, were they in the engine? 
I turned the image right side up  It was doing my neck in!

started removing the valves and after i bulled the sprint out i removed the rubber bit and this is what i was left with. Its a motor i bought not running, |

No big drama then, just press the remainder of the guide through and replace it with a new one. it was work that would have been done perhaps anyway with a rebuild. Take a good hard look at the valve as well for wear. |

I would look at the condition of all the guides, new standard ones are not expensive. |
