| Post subject: | Fitting 2 speed wiper to MK1 |
I am attempting to fit a 2 speed wiper motor from later model. I have conflicting wiring diagrams and also unsure which type of toggle switch to use. Any suggestions |

MK2 S (late) with 2 speed wipers had a special toggle switch for this. It has 1 more terminal than a headlamp one. Sorry, I don't have its part #... We have a 2 speed motor in Barney, using a headlamp switch, but the park doesn't work. Doesn't bother me, as I ran an 850, they didn't park anyhow! Note if fitting a Clubbie motor to a Mk1 with RH park wipers- if you don't change the wheelboxes to later type (somehow), the wipers will sweep a full 180*....

I put a two speed clubby wiper motor in my L/H park LUX.Used a MG lucas two speed wiper switch to match the original ( P/n BHA4786 , $67 at MG spares ) and the BLACK BOOK wiring diagrams I traced where the wires went on a clubby wiper switch and with a multi- meter compared the terminals in the new switch to connect the wires. Had to run one extra wire from the wiper motor to the the new switch. |
