G'day Just Wondering What alternative Disk Brakes there are around, and what is involved to replace 8.4 Disks... Im running 15" Alloys on my moke, so leaves a bit more room there to play with... Cheers, Daniel. |

ive got the metro turbo 8.4inch ventilated discs with 4 piston calipers on mine... Seem to work very good, pulled me up with ease at wakefield park hitting close to 200kph coming into the first corner. Done 15-20 laps and didnt get any brake fade either, running black stuff pads. |

Yeah XR8 running the same system and they work very well. You cold probably look a running some other system but there would be alot of work trying to get them to fit on some sort of hub?? |

is there any reason why you guys opted for the metro turbo's instead of camiras? |

well there is no modification needed with the metros, bolt straight on. No need for engineers, tried and tested for years, 4 piston caliper v single piston, ventilated disc (not sure if camiras came ventilated) mine cost cheaper then the camiras, and also the benefit of not having anything on my car from a bloody CAMIRA ![]() But having said that if i couldnt find a set of metro turbo brakes cheap enough i would have gone the camiras i think. But then again they need a mini disc hub, so maybe if i had drums id go the 9 inch honda conversion...... |

Makka, Nuke Mini has disc CVs on his so I guess either way works. If running big wheels or racing, the disc CV setup is lots stronger.. ![]() |
